First major exercise in the 3D modeling program ZBrush 4r7. The sculpture was based off an actual sculpture in the Freer Museum in Washington, D.C. 

The exercise was modeled and rendered in ZBrush, then brought into Adobe Photoshop for post-compositing. 

Class assignment focusing on a biological adaption. I chose the diving patterns of the peregrine falcon. 3D elements created in ZBrush, the rest in Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator CC. 

The purpose of this illustration was to visualize an organ of my choosing and illustrate a story. The elements of this illustration were created in ZBrush and 3ds Max, then composited in Adobe Photoshop. 

For a molecular pharmacology assignment, we were to visualize a mechanism of action through the use of a still image. This illustration was created using ZBrush, 3ds Max, VMD, and post-composited in Adobe Photoshop.

This will be the cover of my research project: an interactive eBook designed to help undergraduate biology students visualize the replication and genetic reassortment of the influenza A virus. The virions were created in ZBrush and composited in Photoshop CC.

A selection of pages from my research project, Influenza A Virus: An Introduction. The purpose of the project was to help explain the IAV in such a way lay audience might understand the complex nature of the virus in comprehensible terms, all in one source. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator. ZBrush, and 3DS Max were used in this project and it was done in coordination with Dr. Hon Ip from the National Wildlife Health Center in Madison-Wisconsin.

This is part of a bigger cover illustration for the article "Zika Virus Induced Mortality and Microcephaly in Chicken Embryos" in the Stem Cells and Development Journal. This illustration demonstrates the stage in which the Zika virus was injected into the chicken embryo.

This was the cover design for the 40th edition of the VMES Internal Report. Zika virus code was 5ire on the PDB database. Illustration created in C4D, ZBrush, and Adobe PS. Copyright UGA.

ZBrush model lit and rendered in Cinema4D, with the use of a greyscalegorilla light setup. Original tarsal bones created by previous medical illustrators - the osteochondritis dissecans was my creation for a larger project for the Educational Resources Centre at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. 

This is the cover illustration of the Electrophysiology and Electrocardiology eBook, a project to help veterinary students understand the complex subjects. This was a collaboration between myself and Stephanie Pfeiffer, a fellow medical illustrator at the Educational Resource Center at UGA. 

ZBrush models lit and rendered in Cinema4D, with the use of a greyscalegorilla light setup. Original tarsal bones created by previous medical illustrators - the calcaneal fracture was my creation for a larger project for the Educational Resources Centre at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA. 

A horse skull was scanned at the Educational Resource Centre. I cleaned, painted, and textured the resulting scan in ZBrush. Rendered the skull in Cinema4D with the use of a greyscalegorilla light setup. 

The purpose of this assignment was to visualize the life cycle of an organism of our choosing in at least five stages. The 3D elements were created and rendered in ZBrush and composited in Adobe Photoshop.
